Groundbreaking! Deep Robotics' Robot Dogs Solve NEOM Beach Patrol Challenges in Saudi Arabia

## Groundbreaking! Deep Robotics' Robot Dogs Solve NEOM Beach Patrol Challenges in Saudi Arabia Along the 12-kilometer coastline of Saudi Arabia's "City of the Future" NEOM, summer temperatures often exceed 52°C, the sand is soft, and the location is remote. Traditional human patrol operations face dual challenges of efficiency and safety—conducting 2-3 inspections per day with each round trip taking hours, while coping with extreme climate, complex terrain, and the need for beach litter identification. Since December 2023, Deep Robotics' robot dogs have been deployed on NEOM's beaches as Saudi Arabia's first long-running autonomous robotic patrol system. This project was delivered by Chengdu Mingjue Technology Co., Ltd. ### Overcoming Environmental Challenges: All-Terrain Adaptability The Jueying X30 robot dog features IP67-rated protection and operates reliably across a wide temperature range of -20°C to 55°C, ensuring stable performance in scorching heat, sandstorms, and extreme temperature swings. Equipped with a deeply integrated RTK positioning enhancement suite and multi-sensor fusion algorithms, the robot achieves centimeter-level (≤10cm error) high-precision autonomous navigation across feature-sparse sandy beaches. The robot has demonstrated continuous stable operation exceeding 100 hours in this environment. NAJIM project lead Nour stated: "This is Saudi Arabia's first autonomous robot patrol system. Deep Robotics not only provided a mature RTK outdoor navigation solution, but their professional team provided three months of on-site support, resolving multiple delivery challenges including system integration and network communication." ### Building an Unmanned Intelligent Monitoring Network By integrating MtoM private network communication modules, the robot dogs ensure stable real-time data transmission even in areas with weak signal coverage. AI-powered deep cameras with dual-spectrum gimbals enable automatic beach litter identification and round-the-clock environmental monitoring. The "detect-and-report" intelligent response mechanism reduces anomaly handling time from hours to seconds, transforming operations from reactive to proactive. Two Jueying X30 robot dogs form patrol teams, completing 2-4 high-frequency autonomous inspections daily. A single mission saves 4 hours of human round-trip time, significantly optimizing labor costs and operational safety. ### Future Outlook Following two years of stable operation, the partners have planned a Phase II expansion in 2026, extending coverage to over 100 square kilometers. Future applications may include automatic construction waste collection and other environmental protection initiatives. This landmark deployment demonstrates the reliability and adaptability of Chinese quadruped robot technology in extreme environments, setting a replicable benchmark for intelligent patrol systems in remote and harsh conditions worldwide.
